The Use of FTG_USE_SYS_MEMORY Causes a Crash in Domino 6

Technote Number: 1116626

Problem:
There is no need for this parameter in Domino 6. The functionality of
FTG_USE_SYS_MEMORY was included in the Domino 6 codestream (use system memory
for allocations over 512KB). Remove FTG_USE_SYS_MEMORY=1 from the NOTES.INI to
avoid problems like Domino server crashes.

This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and was addressed in Domino
6.5.3.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.5.3 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):

Full-text indexing
SPR# MCAI5QDUSF - Fixed a problem where FTG_USE_SYS_MEMORY=1 full text
performance tuning ini was not working in ND6. This ini should not be used
unless recommended by IBM support and was a regression was introduced in 6.0.

Note:
The parameter works in Domino 6.5.3 without any known issues, however, on 6.5.3
FP1, if updall -x is run on the server with this parameter active in the
notes.ini, the server will crash with the following stack:
